Terra’s Pines City Center in Pembroke Pines is 70 percent pre-leased as construction continues apace.
Terra, one of the region’s most active residential and commercial development firms, has announced a string of recently signed leases at phase one of Pines City Center, the 47-acre mixed-use development taking shape off Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines.
Now 70 percent pre-leased— the tenant roster so far includes Publix, Carl’s Patio, Cooper’s Hawk, BurgerFi, Smoothie King, PizzaRev, Bento Café and The Halal Guys—demand for retail space at Pines City Center points to the community’s rising population and plans for continued residential and commercial growth.
The project will unfold in two phases, with phase one composed of 200,000 square feet of Publix-anchored retail space and phase two composed of 100,000 square feet of commercial space and 385 apartments. Construction of the project’s first phase of retail is now underway, with completion scheduled for late 2018. Nearly 400,000 people live within a five-mile radius of the site, and there are 1,500 residential units within walking distance, so there’s strong interest in Pines City Center among national and regional retailers. Next door, the City of Pembroke Pines is building a $60 million civic center that will include a 3,500-seat performing arts center and conference hall, an outdoor plaza, a 10,000-square-foot art gallery and a new city hall.
