Come to the Resort and Choose Your Escape: Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort

When the name “Margaritaville” comes up in conversation, what comes to mind? Usually flip flops, plenty of sand, a Jimmy Buffett tune, and a cold beer in hand. Well, that image is still one that might pop up, but when you are referring to the AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, add to that visual: a 17-story, 349-room oceanfront property that perfectly combines deluxe comfort with modern tropical design and incredible service.

The property gets its inspiration from singer, songwriter and best-selling author Jimmy Buffett’s laidback “It’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere” lifestyle. Quotes from his lyrics are visible throughout the hotel and make up part of the art displayed. The resort, which boasts an entertainment complex, sits right on the historic Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Yes, that is not a typo, it’s “Broadwalk” because it truly is one very broad boardwalk.

The Goods:

Margaritaville provides the ultimate escape with a beautiful and serene atmosphere that envelopes you the second you walk through the lobby, extends to the main guest areas, and is apparent in each of the resort’s casual-luxe suites. The rooms provide modern amenities and are decorated in hues that represent the sea (sandy beige, baby blue and aquamarine), along with teak-finished furnishings and Caribbean motifs. The resort is a great destination for lovebirds looking for a romantic getaway, locals looking for a great staycation and families looking for the perfect vacation. There are three pools (one of them rooftop), an array of shopping outlets, 30,000 square-feet of event space, a state-of-the-art fitness center, four live entertainment venues, nine bars and restaurants (JWB Prime Steak and Seafood, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Cafe, Landshark Bar & Grill, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Lone Palm Beach Bar, Floridays Airstream Café, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, and Salty Bar) and a FlowRider Double surf simulator and boogie board machine. The property also provides daily activities, from karaoke with a live band on Wednesdays, a guided morning bike ride on Saturdays, beach yoga on Sundays, and live music every day. Just make sure to ask the friendly staff for the activities and performance schedule.

Time to Dine:

Yes, there are plenty of places to enjoy a meal on property, but the pièce de résistance is the JWB Prime Steak and Seafood, named after the hotel chain’s founder James William Buffett, and located in the lobby area (directly across from the hotel’s acclaimed massive cobalt blue flip flop sculpture). Decorated in aged hardwood floors, rustic red brick walls and accentuated by European glass mosaics, the restaurant provides guest and locals with a fine dining experience. Side Note: the fresh fish is caught daily and the menu announces where the fish is caught, and the fisherman’s name. Also, there’s a top-secret sushi menu you won’t find listed anywhere, make sure to ask your server about it.

Now Let’s Relax:

With a name like St. Somewhere Spa, you know you are in for a treat and can wave your cares away as you embrace relaxation. This oceanfront oasis consists of an 11,000 square-foot spa with men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges, steam rooms, scrub room, rainfall showers, and a co-ed wet lounge featuring a hot tub and relaxation benches. Guest and locals alike can opt for a variety of treatments, from hot stone, deep tissue, Swedish or aromatherapy massages, to body scrubs and facials.
