AAUW (American Association of University Women) has been a leader in offering opportunities for young girls to get involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). One of the opportunities is Tech Trek, an exciting and engaging one-week summer camp for middle school girls. It features hands-on science and technology classes, a fun and educational field trip, opportunities to meet inspiring women role models, and a unique college campus experience. AAUW FL began offering the Tech Trek camp in 2012.  It costs $1,100 per student to offer this camp but families pay only $50.00 registration fee.  AAUW FL and its 37 branches raise the required funds by seeking sponsorships and donations.  Girls completing 7th grade are eligible to be nominated by their teachers. We are pleased to offer two camps this year, each for 48 girls.   Thanks to School Board member Mrs. Laurie Rich Levinson, four girls from Broward County have been accepted to the 2019 Tech Trek camp.  For more information about the camp, please visit  www.techtrek-fl.aauw.net
